Certification

This page provides information for healthcare practitioners who would like to get certified in interpersonal psychotherapy.

Pathways

Certification via ISIPT

The International Society of Interpersonal Psychotherapy (ISIPT) is a multidisciplinary, non-commercial, international organization committed to the advancement of IPT. It provides certification for therapists, supervisors and trainers.

Therapist certification requires attendance of a 16-hour introductory workshop by an ISIPT-certified trainer, and clinical supervision of 3 cases by an ISIPT-certified supervisor.

Chinese-speaking (Cantonese and Putonghua) supervisors and trainers are available in Hong Kong and in IPT-China.

Certification via IPT Institute

The IPT Institute conducts training around the world. It also provides certification for therapists, supervisors and trainers.

Certification via other organisations

There are other regional IPT training institutions not listed on this page, e.g. iptuk.net, ipt-Japan. Readers are advised to search for relevant information themselves.
